Ambulance Remounts
2026
Ford
Winnsboro, SC
Built for Fairfield County EMS, this custom remount gives their existing ambulance module a new chapter of frontline service on a 2026 Ford F-550 4x4 regular cab chassis with a 7.3L V8 gas engine. Fairfield selected LiquidSpring rear suspension, a custom grille guard and replacement bumper, an upgraded RC Tronics control system, OEM backup camera, InPower battery system, Tremco ignition security and an ETA-designed console to create a modern, capable foundation for the remounted module.
The module itself receives an extensive exterior and interior refresh, including an ETA-style rear bumper, new kick plate and corner guards, refreshed rub rails and drip rail, new weather stripping, compartment Dry Deck and new ETA-supplied graphics. Fairfield also selected a substantial Whelen LED warning and scene-lighting package, including 900 Series warning lights, 900 Series scene lighting, 700 Series lighting and a HiViz 20-inch brow light. Inside, the remount incorporates new EVS attendant seating with an integrated child-safety restraint, Lonplate flooring with new thresholds, clear Lexan cabinet doors, refreshed upholstery and interior components, while a new Danhard 12V HVAC system updates patient-compartment climate control.
Existing equipment is retained where it continues to serve the department well, including the inverter, Whelen siren and Stryker PowerLOAD/PerformanceLOAD system, helping Fairfield maximize the value of its original module while investing in the systems that matter most for its next service life. The finished remount brings together a new chassis, refreshed appearance, upgraded lighting, suspension, electronics, HVAC and interior components-extending the life of Fairfield County EMS's existing investment while delivering a unit built for years of continued service.
Key Features
Contact ETA or your territory sales representative with information about your department, current fleet, desired vehicle, budget, and anticipated timeline. From there, our team can help identify the appropriate remount, new ambulance, Type II, or specialty vehicle solution and guide you through the next steps.
A Type I ambulance uses a modular patient compartment mounted on a truck-style chassis. A Type II is a van-based ambulance, such as ETA's Ford Transit 350-based High Ground Conversion. A Type III uses a modular patient compartment on a cutaway van chassis. ETA offers solutions across all three categories.
The right answer depends on your module's condition, budget, desired configuration, timeline, and long-term fleet plan. For a suitable module, an ETA remount can offer approximately 30%-45% savings and a published turnaround of approximately 30-90 days. Departments needing an entirely new module or significantly different vehicle may be better served by a new ambulance. ETA can help compare the options before you make that decision.
