Ford
Saluda, SC
This custom Ford Expedition QRV was built for Saluda County EMS to provide leadership with a capable, versatile response vehicle designed for both emergency operations and everyday department use.
The build features a low-profile emergency lighting package integrated throughout the vehicle, including a roof-mounted lightbar, grille lighting, side and running-board lighting, and rear warning lights. The understated white exterior and Saluda County EMS graphics maintain a clean, command-focused appearance while providing the visibility needed during emergency response.
Inside, the Expedition MAX provides a spacious multi-row cabin, modern Ford technology, ample room for personnel and equipment, and the added cargo capacity of the extended-length MAX platform. Ford specifically positions the Expedition MAX as its extended-length Expedition, providing additional cargo room compared with the standard-wheelbase model.
Key Features
A Type I ambulance uses a modular patient compartment mounted on a truck-style chassis. A Type II is a van-based ambulance, such as ETA's Ford Transit 350-based High Ground Conversion. A Type III uses a modular patient compartment on a cutaway van chassis. ETA offers solutions across all three categories.
Yes. ETA's range of new vehicles, remounts, and specialty vehicle solutions allows our team to work with departments on both immediate needs and longer-term fleet planning. Contact your ETA sales representative to discuss upcoming replacements, remount candidates, vehicle availability, and future purchasing needs.
The right answer depends on your module's condition, budget, desired configuration, timeline, and long-term fleet plan. For a suitable module, an ETA remount can offer approximately 30%-45% savings and a published turnaround of approximately 30-90 days. Departments needing an entirely new module or significantly different vehicle may be better served by a new ambulance. ETA can help compare the options before you make that decision.
