MMT Ambulance - Type III Ambulance Remount

Built for MMT Ambulance, this Type III remount gives their existing ambulance module a refreshed platform on a Ford E-350 chassis. The project includes a complete module demount and remount with new chassis electrical wiring, a new cab-to-module seal, LiquidSpring suspension, a Steel Tech aluminum switch console, Grip Strut running boards and stainless-steel wheel simulators. The chassis also receives a rear-view backup camera, InPower automatic disconnect, updated 12-volt charging outlets and new cab seat covers.

The module receives an extensive exterior refresh designed to bring new life to MMT’s existing Type III. Updates include new aluminum corner guards, a new rear kick plate, reflective rub rails, black rubber fenderettes, a new ETA-style rear bumper with lighted ETA logos and refreshed weatherstripping. The module also receives new rear door grabbers, drip rail, fuel-fill protection and a polished side-entry stepwell, while the existing module hardware is inspected and refreshed as needed.

The lighting and electrical systems are also updated throughout the unit with Whelen 900 and 700 Series emergency and scene lighting, new marker lights, a 20-amp Kussmaul Super Auto Eject shoreline and refreshed primary and secondary electrical systems. MMT is also receiving a fresh white exterior finish with customer-furnished graphics, giving the existing module a clean, updated appearance while retaining the foundation of the ambulance they already know.

Inside, the patient compartment receives several key updates, including a new EVS attendant seat with a 5-point harness and child-safety feature, Gunmetal LonPlate II flooring with new thresholds, clear Lexan cabinet panels and updated upholstery. The remount also includes a new Danhard 12-volt HVAC system and underbody condenser, eight new Kenequip white dome lights with Hi/Low functionality and a customer-supplied Stryker Power/Performance LOAD system. The result is a thoughtfully refreshed Type III remount that preserves MMT’s existing module investment while updating the chassis, exterior, electrical systems, lighting, climate control and patient-compartment functionality for its next chapter.

What is the difference between a Type I, Type II, and Type III ambulance?

A Type I ambulance uses a modular patient compartment mounted on a truck-style chassis. A Type II is a van-based ambulance, such as ETA's Ford Transit 350-based High Ground Conversion. A Type III uses a modular patient compartment on a cutaway van chassis. ETA offers solutions across all three categories.

Can ETA remount an ambulance from another manufacturer?

ETA's remount capabilities are not limited to Frazer units; its inventory and project portfolio show remounts across different ambulance configurations. Whether a particular module can be remounted depends on its construction, condition, chassis compatibility, and specifications, so ETA should evaluate the individual unit before confirming a project.
