Built for Savannah River Site Fire Department, these custom Frazer ambulances were designed with both EMS response and fire-service functionality in mind. Each unit features a 14-foot XT module with a forward side-entry door mounted on a Ford F-550 gasoline chassis, paired with LiquidSpring suspension and an Onan 5.5kW generator. The exterior carries a bold two-tone Pierce 90 Red and Frazer White finish with fluorescent yellow/green and red rear chevrons, complemented by a comprehensive Whelen warning package, Whelen CORE system, Pioneer Plus scene lighting and a TAM85 Traffic Advisor for enhanced scene visibility.
Savannah River Site selected several specialized features around the operational needs of its crews, including SCBA storage, an electric oxygen-cylinder lift, dedicated stair-chair storage, equipment wiring for future flashlights and thermal imaging cameras, and custom exterior compartments. Inside, the patient compartment features a Cobalt Blue interior, stainless-steel countertops, yellow grab rails and Onyx flooring, along with custom cabinetry, electric oxygen controls, a Technimount LP-15 monitor mount, Knox MedVault, Valor seating and 6-point squad-bench restraints. The units also incorporate Stryker Power-LOAD Gen 2 systems, Sentinel and Evergreen UV-C disinfection equipment, and a Dometic self-contained A/C system.
The result is a highly specialized Frazer configuration built around equipment organization, crew accessibility, patient care, scene visibility and the unique demands of Savannah River Site Fire Department.
